The EEGAP program seeks to provide Howard University undergraduates with experience that will prepare them for graduate study in ecology and evolutionary biology. The program
consists of three components:
- academic year preparation for Howard University sophomores and juniors;
- summer research and mentoring for students selected as EEGAP Scholars;
- follow-up mentoring for seniors who have completed the EEGAP program, with the goal of admission to a strong graduate program in evolutionary biology, ecology, or environmental science.
Students selected to participate as EEGAP Scholars will be mentored individually by faculty in evolution and ecology at UC Davis, home to one of the nation’s top-ranked graduate programs in ecology and evolutionary biology.
EEGAP scholars will receive a summer stipend of $4400, with housing, meals, and expenses of travel to Davis covered by the EEGAP program.
